    Full Time:  6am – 5pm Mon – Thurs. Friday may be occasionally required.

    Wages:  DOE  $12 - $20/hour, with 30 day review.

    General Requirements:

    • Lift large pieces of material and cabinets / 20 – 60 lbs.
    • Read and Understand Cabinet Drawings and processes.
    • Read and Understand Tape Measure,  Sanding Calibrations.
    • Identify types of wood used, learn properties of each.
    • Understand use of equipment and its application to the job.
    • Understand product application processes (ie; paint, stain, clearcoat, etc)
    • Keep product inventory in adequate supply from job to job.
    • Maintain Finish Room in neat and orderly fashion, including Filters.
    • Maintain Finish and Mixing Equipment, keep clean and functional.
    • Learn properties of stain mixing and tinting.
    • Contribute to the team; meeting quality and delivery goals.
    • Work Safely, Work Smart, and Be Aware.
    • Come to work as expected: on time, focused, and ready.

    Hand Processes:

    • Prep surfaces for each finish application: sanding filling, etc.
    • Masking – prep pieces for finish application.
    • Shaking , Mixing and Tinting.
    • Applying primer, paint, stain applications.
    • May be asked to assist in final assembly and delivery to customer.

    Equipment:

    • AAA Spray Equipment
    • Gravity and Pressure Pot
    • Finish Room:   Fan, Air Exchange Unit, Heater
    • Mixing Station, Fill Station

    Working Environment:

    • 7,000 sq ft. work space in  insulated metal building  ( 3768 N. George St., East Wenatchee, WA )
    • Building is heated, but not air conditioned.
    • 3 Large overhead doors.
    • Floor is painted concrete.
    • Equipment is attached to full time Dust Collection, but environment can accumulate wood dust.
    • Compressed air is piped to equipment full time.
    • A Finish Room/Booth is self-enclosed, inside the building with it’s own heating and fan system  (approx 16’ x 25’).
    • Floor space can be cramped when filled with projects prior to delivery.
    • Equipment does make noise when running.
    • Finish Room Employee is provided a Spray Mask, plus hearing and eye protection (optional).
    • There are multiple active projects building at one time, all at different stages of completion. 
    • Single projects most often include multiple door styles, profiles, wood species, and custom finishes so employees need to be aware of each.
    • Employees may be required to work on the customer’s premise.
    • Employees have 1-15 minute break at 10am, 1-15 minute break at 3pm,  1-hour for lunch at 12:noon.

    Smith Custom Woodworking is a small, family owned Custom Cabinet Manufacturing Business that provides high quality products and finishes. Our customers are contractors, architects, designers and individual homeowners – from ‘whole’ house cabinet and trim packages to remodels and specialty furniture projects.  

    We design and  build an entire product, including manufacturing our own cabinet doors. Our cabinet boxes are generally face frame construction, but we also provide frameless at the customer’s request. We provide high quality cabinet finishes in both Stain and Paint applications.

    We foster long-term relationships with contractors, builders, and home owners all of whom bring years of additional knowledge to construction projects. We also staff in house truss craftsmen, who possess years of in-plant expertise and work hand in hand with our designers, ensuring accurate, practical truss solutions.

    The Business Development Manager (BDM) will work with, and service, established customer base along with developing new customer accounts through cold calls and other means. The ideal candidate will perform material take-offs for clients to estimate merchandise and material needs as required to complete the sales process. The BDM will Develop and expand Clients to increase Company sales and profits.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Identifying potential customers across industries
    • Selling trusses, building materials, and specialty products
    • Grow existing customer base through active prospecting
    • Working with cross functional team to provide a comprehensive, positive experience for the customer
    • Maintain personal sales records
    • Achieving pre determined sales goals
    • Visit job sites to determine customers’ needs and level of satisfaction
    • Measure/validate preliminary building plans
    • Evaluating account revenue and profitability

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • College degree; or two to four years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive knowledge of construction industry and local building codes. 
    • Ability to read and interpret building plans and blueprints
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
    • Motivated to build and retain customer relationship
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Industry sales experience – minimum 3 to 5 years
    • Computer and technology (mobile) proficient
    • Ability to effectively represent the company and products to prospective customers
    • Comfortable working in a team-based environment
    • Ability to follow through and follow up
